Windows installer
Recommended for most Windows users. The current beta is unsigned, so SmartScreen may show “Unknown publisher.”

From download to first export.
This guide covers Windows and Linux installation, first sign-in, every field in the Create form, all four workspaces, Google Vids checkpoints, recovery and export.
LINUX DESKTOP
Linux package
For supported Linux desktops with Python 3.10+, Tkinter, Chrome/Chromium and FFmpeg.
Install on Windows
Use the official FrameVela release link above. Windows displays a warning because this public beta is not yet code-signed—not because the file is automatically unsafe.
Download the installer
Click Download Setup.exe. Confirm the filename is FrameVela-AI-Studio-Windows-1.0.4-Setup.exe.
Open SmartScreen details
If “Windows protected your PC” appears, click More info. Check that the app name matches the FrameVela Setup filename.
Why this appears: the beta does not yet use a paid code-signing certificate. Only continue when you downloaded it from this official website/release.
Select Run anyway
After opening More info, select Run anyway. If the filename is different, cancel and download again from this page.
Complete Setup
Keep the suggested install folder, select Install, then Finish. Start FrameVela from the Desktop shortcut or Start menu.
Install on Linux
Download the archive, open Terminal and run each command separately. Do not use sudo to run FrameVela itself.

If the archive downloaded with a different filename, use that exact filename after tar -xzf.
Uninstall on Linux
Open Terminal inside the extracted FrameVela folder. Projects, exports, browser profile and sign-in data are preserved.
cd ~/Downloads/framevela-ai-studio-linux-1.0.4 chmod +x uninstall_framevela_studio.sh ./uninstall_framevela_studio.sh
Enter y when asked. The shortcut, environment and Application Menu entry are removed automatically.
Prerequisites
Install Python 3.10 or newer, Tkinter, Google Chrome/Chromium, FFmpeg and FFprobe using your Linux distribution’s trusted package manager.
Dedicated Google Vids browser
./login_google_vids.sh opens FrameVela’s dedicated browser profile. Sign in yourself and keep that browser profile private.
Desktop shortcut
The installer creates a FrameVela desktop/application-menu entry. Future launches can use the shortcut or ./launch_framevela_studio.sh.
First launch & sign-in
FrameVela sign-in and Google Vids access are separate. Google controls whether your account can use Google Vids.
Read and accept the Terms once. The accepted version is stored locally for that profile.
Select Google sign-in and complete it in the browser. “Keep me signed in” stores the local remembered session.
Open Google Vids when requested and sign in to the Google account that has Vids access.
Privacy: Never share passwords, OTPs, browser-profile folders, cookies or private diagnostic logs. FrameVela does not include a Google Vids subscription.
Create your first project
Choose a workspace, complete the form from top to bottom, review the summary and then start automation. Pause before making any manual change in Google Vids.
What to enter in each field
A short internal name that helps you find the project later.
The exact subject and goal of the video. Be specific about audience and purpose.
Select Documentary, Shorts & Reels, AI Clip or Animate Image before filling mode-specific controls.
Your target length. Google may produce a slightly different live duration; FrameVela verifies the result.
The narration and on-screen language you want for the final video.
Who will watch: beginners, customers, students, professionals or a general audience.
Examples: educational, cinematic, energetic, calm, documentary or social-first.
Describe locations, subjects, colors, camera feeling and anything that must not appear.
Choose narration and whether styled captions should be applied after approval.
For AI Clip or Animate Image, choose the exact local source file requested by the form.
How each workspace works
The app shows only controls relevant to the selected mode. Your draft remains available when switching panels.
Documentary
- Enter topic, audience, duration and narration direction.
- Generate the storyboard and review scenes.
- Select a design when Google Vids asks.
- Approve voice, avatars and captions at the shown checkpoints.
- Continue until the final MP4 export is verified.
Shorts & Reels
- Choose vertical format and target duration.
- Add the hook, core message and ending/CTA.
- Review generated clips and insert only the newest approved result.
- FrameVela checks duration and can recover an overlength compilation without regenerating the project.
AI Clip
- Choose Generate, Edit or Extend.
- For Edit/Extend, upload the correct source clip.
- Describe the base clip and the requested change separately.
- Preview the result, approve it, then continue the project.
Animate Image
- Upload a supported image.
- Describe movement, camera direction and duration.
- Generate once, review the newest result and approve insertion.
- Continue to narration/captions/export if enabled.
Checkpoints, designs & export
When FrameVela pauses, read the instruction shown in Activity & approvals. Complete only that requested action, then select Start / Continue or Retry Preserved Step.
Pause before manual editing
Select Pause / Stop, wait for the preserved-state message, then make the requested edit in Google Vids.
Resume safely
Return to FrameVela and use Start / Continue. If a preserved step failed, use Retry Preserved Step instead of starting a new project.
Export
FrameVela verifies narration/caption requirements and saves the final file in Videos/FrameVela Exports on Windows or ~/Videos/FrameVela Exports on Linux.
Common problems
Use these fixes before deleting anything. Project generation is preserved at supported checkpoints.
Windows says Unknown publisher
Use More info → verify the official FrameVela Setup filename → Run anyway. The beta is unsigned.
Google sign-in appears again
Launch the installed app/official shortcut and keep the dedicated profile folder unchanged. Do not run multiple extracted portable copies.
Google Vids access is unavailable
Google controls eligibility. Sign into the correct Google account and confirm that account can open Google Vids directly.
A step says Failed
Open Google Vids and read Activity & approvals. Use Retry Preserved Step after completing the exact requested action.
Linux command says file not found
Check the exact archive filename in Downloads and confirm Terminal is inside ~/framevela-ai-studio-linux-1.0.4.
Where are exports?
Use the Exports folder button in FrameVela, or open the FrameVela Exports folder inside your Videos directory.
